A letter from Prince Vyshnevtsky (2)

In reply to count Kastor

Your insults are unwelcome
But one in particular is unforgivable - that you name the Prince a cultist
Unless you retract this comment we will never again enter into diplomacy with you - not should the city of Hardenburg itself be burned to the group and the prince and all his kinsmen be slain
Our honour is wounded beyond repair, but worse than that Morr has been challenged.
We shall abandon you to chaos. The warrior priests and inquisition we sent is recalled and should chaos ever again attack you we shall lend you no aid - then might you learn the true identity of the followers of chaos
All discussion is terminated between our two states and there shall be only war - bitter and cruel.

My master address this to the Leitdorf family - to every generation. We have learned something from our dwarven neighbours and that is how to bare a grudge.
We had once thought the succession an issue of debate (that we might give the Leitdorf's our allegiance - should the terms and assurances they offered us be favourable) - however our opposition to the pretenders and support for the Von Alptraums is now whole hearted.
We shall however agree to bargain with a council of the noble families if ever they should wish.
