From Russia with love - Napoleon's retreat from Moscow

I'm dreaming of a white... Zombie!

Basically, this game was what we did with the rest of our time after we had played Salisbury plain. Below the bit in Osprey's "Zombies: a hunter guide" book about the english civil war is another section about the Napoleonic war. Put simply it says that Napoleon saw the danger of having necromancers within his empire, so he banished them and they took refuge with some of his less moral enemies and, on the retreat from Russia, these necromancers got their revenge on him.
Well we had the zombies and I had just recently purchased, converted and painted up ten dismounted Polish lancers of the imperal guard for another game (which will appear in the near future).
This gave us the perfect ingredients for a retreat from Russia skirmish game.

We decided on using the smae rules that had been used for "Somewhere near Barysau, 23rd November 1812 http://warformiddleearth.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/somewhere-near-barysau-23rd-november.html" as they had worked very well for me and seemed to fit the game, both games were also set in the retreat from Russia.
My force was composed of eight dismounted Polish guard lancers. All were armed with carbines (hitting on a 1-5 on a D10) and cavaly sabres (+1 in combat). The sergeant was considered slightly more skillful with his sabre than the others and so got an extra +1.
My tale of two gamers opponent's force was nine zombies (one with a blunderbuss and one with a musket, both one shot weapons), one hound (+1 wounds to the necromancer) and the necromancer himslef (sword, +1 in combat, 5 wounds and the ability to raise three zombies (one a turn)).
The objectve of the game was for the Poles to fight through the zombie masses and take out the necromancer. Simple. Or so it looked...

The remaining Poles decide to attack the source, to cut off the zombies at the necromancer

Beating off the great undead hound, the plucky pole plunges his sword into the heart of the necromancer.

The necromancer drops down dead in the snow, his hound also collapsing

With the necromancer dead, the three remaining Poles have but two remaining zombies to finish off and continue on their journey
