War in Wattonford Campaign: Battle of Nehek's Pillars

This was the second battle I fought in the campaign (it was the fourth everyone else had fought) however there were only four of us playing (only three from the campaign). We made our alliances, with myself allying with Tzeentch for the glory of Slaanesh and the Imperial Nordlanders joining forces with the Sartosan vampires.
Here are the lists, we each had our 750pt armylists making two 1500pt armies. The game lasted for six turns with each piece of terrain (2 forests and 2 skull temples) counting as an objective
Host of Slaanesh and Tzeentch
Exalted hero Surtha Lenk
Chaos sorcerer
17 warriors of chaos
5 marauder horse
5 marauder horse
5 Chaos knights
5 Chaos knights
Chaos warshrine

The Nautical Pact
Heavens Battle wizard
Vampire with great weapon
Necromancer
19 skeletons
19 zombies
44 Halberdiers
36 free companies
20 swordmen
5 dire wolves
5 dire wolves
5 black knights
mortar
Hellstorm rocket battery

This was the line up facing each other across the board. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 1-0 Nauticuls

In turn one the WCs got right up close to the enemy, unluckily however the Marauder horse turned tail and fled when charged by the swordsmen. If you want to know they never rallied. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 2-0 Nauticuls

Turn one of the allies turn seemed to be the most eventful, and a turning point for the game. First off the mortar and rockets opened up on the Chaos warriors killing two. The Halbedier attack column then charged the Chaos knights, but was badly mauled taking 6 casualties to none before being run down. The knights then over ran into the Black knights. My knights then got charged by the Skeletons, they killed 16 of the undead, losing four casualties themselves. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 2-0 Nauticuls

Most unluckily of all the Dire wolves beat Marshal Lenk in combat, they wounded him, losing only one themselves. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 2-0 Nauticuls

In WC turn 2 the Knight champion was challenged to duel with the Sartossan Vampire, who he sucessfully wounded before being struck down by the vampires great weapon. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 0-0 Nauticuls

The Chaos sorcerer left his unit which was advancing on the swordmen in the far corner. My marauder horse charged the Zombies killing 11 for only two casualties and the Knights wiped out their skeletal counter parts before overrunning into the militamen. Marshal Lenk also finished off the last dire wolves with a few swings of his bloodskull pendant. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 0-0 Nauticuls

In the Mariners turn 2 the Knights killed 5 free companies to no knights before overruning them and charging on towards the artillery (losing one knight, the only one to die, to low lying branches) Slaanesh and Tzeentch 1-0 Nauticuls

The hellstorm and mortar opened up on the Warriors killing two. The Skeletons charged and overran the warshrine, having raised back three skeletons before hand. In our turn three the Knights charged the hellstorm battery wiping its crew out and overrunning into the mortar crew. Marshal Lenk took control of the temple. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 1-0 Nauticuls

In the Allies turn three the Necromancer lead his zombies onto the temple of skulls, contending it with marshal Lenk.  Slaanesh and Tzeentch 1-1 Nauticuls

The knights who had 44 halbediers, 1 battle wizad, 5 black knights, 36 milita and 3 crewmen to their name by now charged into the mortar crew wiping it out! At almost the same time the Warriors wiped out the swordsmen leaving only undead troops left. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 2-1 Nauticuls

The Chaos Sorcerer, realising time was running out quickly grabed the othe temple of skulls. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 3-1 Nauticuls

In My turn Marshal Lenk charged the Necromancer and his zombies, challenging the necromancer who declined. So Lenk just hacked up all of his zombies. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 3-1 Nauticuls

The last skeleton, standing alone with the Necromancer as the last vampiric troops is sniped by flickering fire of Tzeentch. Slaanesh and Tzeentch 3-1 Nauticuls

In the final combat of turn 6 Marshal lenk splits the necromancer in half with one blow of his axe! Slaanesh and Tzeentch 3-0 Nauticuls

The game was declard a Chaos victory for Slaanesh and even though I had but one model left at the end it got me two campaign tiles, putting me at a level with the front runners of the campaign. Unfortunatly my gaming partner was not in the campaign so did not get any tiles, but I appreciated the help

Next part will be storm of magic....
