Vampire hunting in licheberg (part 2 of the battle of the haunted hills)

After his defeat on the haunted hills at the hands of the council of the blessed, Siriun fled to the desterted grave town of Licheberg. With its vampiric ruler, Weneceslas, resting after the battle Siriun would have an easy job of walking in to the abandoned town and raising the huge mouds of corpses in ever corner back up to create an undead horde that would allow him to hold Licheberg almost in definatly. Accompanied by a small band of crypt ghouls and a couple of dire wolves, he raced off to start the raising...
However he had been followed... after the battle Yann the bold and St. domonic had gathered together a band of the prince's guard in whatever state they were in at the time. Some rode horses others ran on foot, some wore cloacks and helmns while the others had plate armour and broad hat and there was any ammount of different weapons with greatswords, rapiers pistols and repeater handgun mixed everywhere. The band of Vampire hunters, led by Yann made a stand round the clock of Morr in the centre of Licheberg, this was the only place which was not carpeted with corpses and the only place Domonic could channel morr's power.

We played this game as we would a normal warhammer game but with more skirmish type rules (ie no charge arc, models move as individuals etc). I had a small band of around five greatswords and three outriders, together with my lore of light wizard and a warrior priest. The vampires on the other hand were made up of Siriun a vampire, a large selection of around eleven or tweleve crypt ghouls and grave guard together with a couple of dire wolves.

The small band of Hardenburgers stood upon the clock's base, all around them were corpses and great carts piled with the bodies. It was a defeated vampire's dream...
The Outriders could be heared riding down the streets, the horses could be heard making a great deal of fuss as they waded through the corpses and the sound of cracking and crunching bones under hoof was horrible. Suddenly a great deal of gun shots went off and the riders came charging back into the court yard, letting rip at a band of heavily armoured skeletal warriors making their way down one of the streets! suddenly there were ghouls and undead wolves bursting out from another.
But just as the men were raising their greatswords to counter these surges, Yann let out a cry and lept from the  clock's protection, running for a back street.
Siriun had was wandeing down this street towards the town centre and  was clearly in the middle of some dark ritual of raising. As Yann and his swordsmen hit the ground of the court yard the bodies littering it began to grasp at their feet and they slashed wildley at the corpses around them in their haste to get at the vampire. Behind them st. domonic and the three horsemen were doing their best to hold the undead at bay but it was the vampoire who must be the priority. In such a position as this he could besiege Hardnburg for years and the city would in time fall.

But as the vampire charged towards Yann and the swordsmen, wielding his blood soacked knife Yann stepped out towards him. He declared lifted his hammers high above his head and brought them down through Siriun's rib cage. The vampire then caught a blow at the warrior priest, but imbued with the armour of righteousness  the blood soacked blade could not harm him. With one last blow of the Priest's hammer the vampire was downed and the swordsmen fell upon the lifeless creature, plunging their weapons time and time again through it's blackened heart.

The corpses had ceased to move and the riders were firing off shots at the weakened ghouls, pursuing them to the edge of the city. Yann would be remembered for this act, and so would the nine men with him. The ten men who saved Hardenburg and Licheberg from the grip of Vampiric power!
