War in Wattonford campaign: Battle of Harlequin Hill

Today was the challenging day where we could bring our 750pt armies in store and challenge opponents to one on one games. Fortunatly there were enough of us to go round the two tables and we decided that you could challenge someone that wasn't bordering your territory (a good thing as none of my borderers turned up!). I challenged the lizardman force lead by Kotem whom I had already faced twice before, lost against once and won against once.

 We played the dawn attack scenario with the knights and Temple guard appearing miles away from the actual battle. I vanguarded my Marauder horse straight towards the skinks on the hill.
The marauder horse then suffered a round of skink fire which killed three. Then the horsemen charged the skinks, wiping them out and  overrunning straight past the next unit.

 The skinks with shields and spears then charged my Marauder horse while the other skinks took down the remainder of the other unit with blow pipes. In th combat with the skinks I killed two before being run down by them. This left me outnumbered almost eight to one. I slowly inched my Knights, warshrine and General towards the temple guard, giving them a range of targets to charge and an almost certain flank the turn after.

 My Knights champion the challenged Kotem to a duel. Soon Kotem had decapitated him.

 But it quickly went down hill for the lizards when the warshrine and Surtha Lenk charged it in the flank. Surtha duelled the unit champion, killing him with a strength eight killing blow. Then the remaining knight and the warshrine butchered up two lizards, sending the unit and Kotem fleeing they ran them down. It was looking up for the Warriors of chaos

But then the skinks opened up with blowpipe fire on the knight behind them, killing him. Meanwhile the Skinks with shields charged the Warshrine killing it and overrunning. The skinks on the hill then opened up on Surtha with blowpipes killing the hero.

A miserable defeat for the Warriors of chaos, earning them 900 victory points. However i had killed their general and so got some points for that.
